Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Last updated 9 October 2026 · Applies to dashman.in

In short: this website has no accounts, no sign-up form and no ads. We collect your email only if you write to us. With your permission we count visits using first-party cookies; we never try to learn who you are from them. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time at nikhilkhurana2006@gmail.com.

1. Who we are and what this covers

This policy applies to the website dashman.in (the "Site"). The Site is operated by Nikhil Khurana, sole proprietor, trading as DashMan, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("DashMan", "we", "us"). For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for personal data we collect through the Site.

It does not cover the DashMan mobile app or camera hardware, which are not yet released and will have their own privacy notice. "Personal data" means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to that data.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect as little as we can. The Site has no login, no payment, no sign-up form and no comment feature.

What we do not collect: your IP address in our analytics log, your precise location, your name or email from analytics, payment details, government IDs, or any dashcam footage. We do not buy or enrich data about you, and we do not use analytics data to identify you.

3. How we use your data

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, build advertising profiles, or make automated decisions about you. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them; every such email will carry an unsubscribe instruction.

4. Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf, and only as needed:

ProviderWhat forData involved
Google LLC (Gmail)Receiving and sending our emailsEmails you send us
Google LLC (Google Sheets and Apps Script)Storing analytics events in a private spreadsheet that only we can openAnalytics data described above (only if you accepted analytics)
Google LLC (Google Fonts)Serving the typefaces used on the Site. Your browser requests font files directly from Google when a page loads, so Google receives your IP address and browser detailsIP address, browser/user-agent
Vercel Inc.Hosting and delivering the SiteTechnical request data including IP address

We may also disclose data if required by law, court order or a competent authority, or to protect our legal rights. If DashMan is ever sold or restructured, personal data may transfer to the successor, who must honour this policy.

5. Transfers outside India

Our providers (Google, Vercel) operate global infrastructure, so personal data they process for us may be stored or accessed outside India. The DPDP Act permits cross-border transfers except to countries the Government of India restricts by notification. We will comply with any such restriction. The product promise on our Site — that dashcam footage stays in India — concerns the DashMan camera and app, not the data on this website described in this policy.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

To exercise a right, email nikhilkhurana2006@gmail.com from the address you wrote to us from, with the subject "Privacy request". If you accepted analytics and want your analytics events found, include the value of your dm_vid cookie (visible in your browser’s cookie settings). We may need to confirm it is really you before acting. We aim to respond within 30 days, and will tell you if we cannot act and why. Exercising your rights is free.

7. Children

The Site is intended for adults (18 and over). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has contacted us, email nikhilkhurana2006@gmail.com and we will delete the data. The DPDP Act requires verifiable parental consent before processing a child’s data, which this Site is not designed to obtain.

8. Security and data breaches

We use reasonable security safeguards as required by the IT Act, 2000 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures) Rules, 2011: the Site is served over HTTPS; analytics are collected through a write-only endpoint into a private spreadsheet restricted to the operator; we collect no passwords or payment data; and we keep access to the minimum. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

The Site links to third-party websites (for example sources cited in our articles). We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any change here with a new "last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
